Cane River Chapter, NSDAR

The Cane River Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized on December 6, 2019, with twenty-eight organizing members having historical ties to the Cane River communities of Cloutierville, Isle Brevelle, and Melrose, located in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. The chapter is named after the historic Cane River.
As a part of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and the Louisiana State Society DAR (LSDAR), our members are committed to promoting the core values of patriotism, education, and historic preservation by organizing and participating in events and activities throughout the year. Highlights of chapter activities include:

Host an annual Veterans Day Recognition and Celebration Luncheon

Promote Constitute Week in the Natchitoches Parish area schools

Award the Community Service Awards to local residences

Award Gold Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Medal to area students

Award Bronze Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Medal to area students

Fundraising for the DAR Project Patriot to support our military

Collect and send coupons to our military families

Collect and send used postage stamps to Stamps for the Wounded

Place flags on the area veterans' graves
The Cane River Chapter, NSDAR, is always happy to welcome new and associate members.
