Claiborne Parish Chapter

Located in Homer, LA
Chapter Meetings- 3rd Saturday of the month
Meeting Time- 10:00am

The Claiborne Parish Chapter was organized in the fall of 1975. The name selected for the chapter was "Claiborne Parish Chapter." Claiborne Parish is one of the oldest parishes in Louisiana, having been established in 1828 and named in honor of Colonel W.C.C. Claiborne, Governor of the Territory of Orleans and upon admission to the Union in 1812, first Governor of the new state of Louisiana.

Chapter members are actively involved in genealogy. Several members perform a wide variety of service hours in the community. Members serve and honor United States veterans and are active in preserving parish history.

In 2015 members held a Vietnam War Veteran reception. In 2019 members places a bronze plaque to mark the grave site of an American Revolutionary soldier who is buried in Claiborne Parish.

Claiborne Parish Chapter members are a close knit community and always enjoy having prospective members visit! Please contact the chapter if you are interested in attending a meeting, as meeting times and location vary.
